Can I decide which dive site to go to?
Customers can request for a preferred diving route, but there is no guarantee that your request will be fulfilled because we will choose the route for customers based on the activity, and the dive sites will depend on the sea conditions and weather.
What level of diving is each site more suitable for?
Racha Yai & Noi:
The usual and recommended diving route for Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water Diving. Marine life is not in abundance, but sufficient to satiate your fascination and fantasy about the underwater world. Very calm dive sites that allow the first foray into the underwater world an easy yet memorable one.
Suitable for Open Water, Advanced and Leisure divers. The level of difficulty lies in between that of Racha Yai & Noi and King Cruiser Wreck. The variety of
King Cruiser Wreck:
The diving route that is the most challenging out of the three choices. It is a great site with a good diversity of marine life.
Can I do nitrox if I want to?
Phuket day trips do not offer Nitrox dives.
Similan LOBs, however, do have Nitrox available.
What kind of boat am I going to be diving from?
Almost all Phuket day trip boats have a capacity that can carry 20-30 divers, it is the same size as a liveaboard boat, which is about 30m by 6m. All customers come from different dive centers and are led by respective Instructors and/or Divemasters.
What time do the dives start every day?
The pick-up time is at 7:30 to 8am from Patong, Karon, Kata, Chalong area. The boat departs at about 8:30am. Depending on the number of dives that you are going to do for your day trip, timing differs. If you are doing 2 dives, it will be around 3-4 pm when you reach back at Chalong Pier. If you are doing 3 dives, it will be around 5-6pm when the boat docks at Chalong Pier. It is still affected by the wind or current and other weather conditions.
How long is each dive approximately?
Each dive has a bottom time of usually 50 – 60 minutes. Of course, it largely depends also on an individual diver’s air consumption rate.
What is the dive guide to diver ratio for fun diving?
General ratio is 1:4, the maximum ratio is 1:6
I am signing up for the dive trip by myself, will I be paired up with a buddy?
It will be arranged on a case by case scenario.
What type of transport will I be picked up from at the airport?
You can book a taxi at the counter after the airport exit, they have price lists to different areas of Phuket. Alternatively, we can also arrange transport before the trip which is slightly cheaper than the airport taxi.
How long does it take to travel from the hotel to the pier for diving?
The pier will be at Chalong. If traffic is smooth, it will take about 30 minutes from Patong , 20 minutes from Karon, 15 minutes from Kata, 10 minutes from Rawai.
Where should I stay in Phuket?
If your main objective for staying at Phuket is for diving, Chalong area is the best choice as the hotel is cheaper and there is no wasted time on daily transport because the boat for pick-up is at Chalong Pier. If you want to shop after diving, want to experience the nightlife and other entertainment spots, Patong area is the best choice.
Which part of Phuket is nearest to the pier?
Chalong is the nearest to the pier.
How much is the accommodation approximately per night in Phuket?
The price of the accommodation depends on the season.
I am travelling solo, will there be extra charges?
For airport transfers and accommodation, if you are travelling solo, you will need to bear all the charges. There is no single supplement surcharge for diving.

What if I have special dietary requirements?
On diving days, the boat will supply breakfast and lunch, the menu is fixed and cannot be changed, do prepare your own food to bring on board the boat if you have special dietary requirements.
Where can I go for sightseeing in Phuket?
The hotels usually have tour packages available for purchase. There are also many tour companies around Phuket if you want to go sightseeing in Phuket.
Is there public transport in Phuket?
No, there is no public transport in Phuket. You can book transport like taxi, mini bus and tuk-tuk, or rent a motorbike or a car if you have a valid driver’s license.
Do I need a VISA to enter Phuket?
For Chinese, the Visa-On-Arrival charge is 1200THB per pax. Please bring along 1 passport-sized photo. For other countries, please check out your country’s immigration website for more details.
What currency does Phuket use?
Phuket uses Thai Baht.
Where do I buy dive travel insurance?
Most insurance companies offer travel insurance. You can check with your insurer for more details.
Is tipping necessary? If yes, how much should I give?
Tipping is common in Phuket. It is about 30 – 50 Baht per day for day trips and 100-200 Baht for a Similan LOB trip.
